Christmas is a festive season all look forward to with different agendas. Shoppers adore the end of year sales in shopping malls where jaw dropping sale items are aplenty. Others want a traditional turkey feast by the fireplace. Whatever it may be, it holds true for families and peers everywhere that gift exchanges are excitedly anticipated. Note what the gift recipients like and do not like; and chances are they will grin from ear to ear when they unwrap their gift!
Personalised Festive Hampers
A festive hamper made up of all the things the gift recipient likes is definitely considered a sincere gesture by the giver. Make a hamper with any item you can think of; but be sure to rule out perishable foods. Then fit them all together in an aluminium flower pot or a wicker basket.
These are examples of hamper-friendly items that can be inserted as per the recipient’s liking: a bottle or two of favourite imported beer, a rolled up tee shirt of a favourite band, a tin of shortbread, a packet of pitted olives, vouchers to the next shopping sale, funky shoelaces for school, and et cetera.
Bubbly Gifts
A bottle of bubbly, that is. A vast selection of beers, wines, liquor and spirits are available for selection at the wine and liquor shops in town. Tie a ribbon around the bottle and hey presto, there is a ready-made gift! Make impactful impressions by choosing what the individual is partial to sipping.
A six-pack of a buddy’s favourite beer could be as welcome as dessert champagne to a dinner party. If it is an invitation to a fine home cooked meal, do present your host with a red or white bottle of wine if the menu has been made known beforehand. If not, by all means bring a bottle each.
Accessorise With Accessories
Both the ladies and gentlemen can doll themselves up to look good, if done right. Working men would appreciate a fine strapping belt from their favourite brand of leather goods; or perhaps a sleek pair of cuff links. A tie pin would stand out as a shiny new gift for men who work day in and day out with just plain ties.
It is rather a myth that ladies would succumb to just any lovely piece of jewellery or accessory. Some ladies go gaga over cocktail rings, while others might prefer an enchanting necklace compared to rings. The whole idea, if possible, is to find out if the person wears the item at all, and if she has an entire hoard of it already.
Christmas is the season of giving; as such, do take the time to find out a few likes and dislikes about a person so that what is given to the person is a thoughtful and practical gift that can be made use of. In other words, forget recycling the mantelpiece clock from last Christmas and make full use of these ideas to fill those stockings with unexpected little presents!
